He is Risen!!

Our Easter Sunday is NOT the picture perfect scene where everyone is all precious and holy, smiling perfectly for the camera in their perfect Easter outfit. Aren't you glad Easter is not about perfect outfits and perfect baskets? I wanted to make sure my youngins understood the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate it. I always ask them on the way home from church what they learned. Today's answers... Sarah Mae gave me a detailed discription of the nails they used to nail Jesus to the cross; then Samuel informed me Easter was about Jesus and chocolate... I can agree with that.

Samuel is 6!!

Today my boy turned 6!! The kids are on spring break this week and they wanted to make a trip to Welaka where Paul's parents have a "fish house." It is always sooo relaxing when we go there. We did not get to stay too long but we had fun while we were there. They had fun taking turns "driving" the boat and spending time with Nana and Papa.

Samuel's Party

Wow! I can't believe my sweet Samuel is almost 6. My babies are growing up so fast. I don't want to miss a moment! His actual birthday is Wednesday, March 31 (which is in the middle of spring break). So, we decided to have his party the Saturday before his birthday. We had the party at JW Tumbles
They did a great job entertaining the kids and making the party REALLY fun. Lots of friends came to celebrate and Samuel had a wonderful time. He wanted a "Cat in the Hat" Theme. He loves to read Dr. Suess.

they carried him around and chanted "samuel, samuel"

TCE Kickball

The annual Kickball game between the teachers and students was a fun family night. Samuel played kickball and Sarah Mae was a cheerleader. They were sooooo cute!!! Then there was David. He played on the playground with daddy. He behaved, until he ran off, into the parking lot, and got into the golf cart! Thank you Timberlin Creek Staff for organizing a great night!

We are back!

So its been a long time since I have updated the family blog. Rather than even try to update the whole year in one post I will just start from where we are right now. March!! Our anniversary month and Samuel's birthday month.
The week started with David breaking the toliet, flooding the bathroom, the hall and part of the kid's bedrooms. What a mess that was!!! We are blessed that Paul's dad came over and fixed the toilet and helped us get everything up and working again. It was a patience test and I hope I passed. That particular did not start off bad though. Before Sarah Mae left for school she asked me to pray with her to ask Jesus to help her with her writing project. How sweet that she knew she can bring anything to the Lord and He will help her!! Who cares that the two year old flooded the house. My 7 yr old asked me to pray with her!!

Today the kids are home from school. Sarah Mae and Samuel have the stomach bug and David has an infection on his lip. Fun times. So its a day to get well and hopefully do some catch up.

Samuel is Five

Today was Samuel's actual birthday. The party was over the weekend but today he turned 5! We started the day with his favorite breakfast, waffles. And the big deal for the day was getting in the car. Because he is now the big 5, that means no more car seat! He felt like such a big boy sitting in the booster seat with his seat belt. Then it was on to pre-school with cupcakes. It was a fun day!!!

Samuel's 5th birthday party

My sweet boy turned FIVE! Time goes by way too fast. It seems like yesterday I was telling Paul that number 2 was on the way. Samuel is a sweet boy!! He is his own person for sure. He will be a great leader one day. He does his own thing and is not usually worried about what other people are doing. And, he is soooo smart!! He can read! He loves books and loves to learn. He also loves movies. There is no doubt that he is the biggest Wiggles fan ever!!! That boy LOVES the Wiggles. He is very affectionate and tender hearted. He will make a wonderful husband one day. We had a fun birthday party. His latest craze is Bible Man. The videos are pretty cheesy but the message is great. There is scripture all throughout the movie. And there is also a great moral lesson with each movie. So, our theme this year was Bible Man!
